Dr. Fernandez received his BA degree from St. Thomas Catholic University in Miami, FL where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. During this time he received the Outstanding Young Man Award. He obtained his Medical Degree from UCC School of Medicine in Puerto Rico. Dr. Fernandez completed an internship in General Surgery at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, TX along with a residency in OB/GYN. While Dr. Fernandez was in the military, he was stationed in Heidleberg, Germany at the 130th Station Hospital. He was also the Attending and Residency Clinical Instructor during his time at Womack Army Medical Center at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Dr. Fernandez had Honorable Discharge with the US Army with rank of Major in 1990. Since 1990, he has practiced here at Greensboro Gynecology. Dr. Fernandez is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology along with being a Diplomat of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He serves as member of many medical organizations. He is certified by the International Society of Clinical Densitometry and by the North American Menopausal Society. During 2014, he has been involved in the Cone Health Systems Physicians Leadership Academy.
Timothy P. Fontaine, M.D., FACOG, CCD
Dr. Fontaine graduated Magna Cum Laude from the College of The Holy Cross where he was selected Phi Beta Kappa. He attended medical school at the University of Pittsburg and subsequently completed his internship and residency at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Europe and returned to Walter Reed Army Medical Center as the Chief of Outpatient and Consultative Services. Since leaving the military in 1989, he has practiced obstetrics and gynecology in Greenboro. He recently stopped his obstetrical practice, which has allowed him to devote his full attention to the gynecological needs of his patients. He is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and an active member in a number of medical organizations. Dr. Fontaine was awarded the 2014 Vitals On-Time Doctor Award. This award regonizes doctors who manage their clock effectively. Based on the reviews during the past year, your patients reported shorter than average wait times. Nancy Young graduated from University of Pittsburg with a Post Masters in Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Nancy attended West Virginia University with a Master of Science in Nursing Degree and attended University of North Carolina Chapel Hill , WHCNP for her BSN. Nancy is NCC- National Certification as a Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner and an active member in a number of medical organizations. Nancy has been practicing as our Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner in Greensboro for 14 years.
